在我校学习的来华留学硕士或博士研究生在学习和掌握专业知识的同时，需进行汉语、中国文化及中国国情教育等相关课程的学习，即以语言知识学习与技能训练为主的《基础汉语》课、以介绍中国文化及其发展趋势为主的《中国文化概论》课、以及解读新中国成立后的重大政治、经济、外交等举措和成就的《新时期中国发展道路》课。此三门课程皆为学分必修课。符合要求的学生可以申请免修。
一、 申请免修条件
1. 《基础汉语》
（1) 我校或国内其它院校系统学习汉语一个学期（四个月，最低300学时）以上的学生，需出示“结业证书”及成绩单；
（2) 在海外孔子学院学过汉语超过300学时，需出示相应“结业证书”及成绩单；
（3) 在我校或国内、外其它院校完成以汉语为主要授课语言的本科专业的学习，准备在我校继续攻读学位的学生，需出示本科阶段的毕业证书；
（4) 已获得HSK2级以上证书的学生，需出示相应证书；
（5) 已在我校参加过本课程的学习，并已取得相应学分的学生，需出示学习证明及成绩单；
（6) 无法满足上述条件的学生，可参加我院统一组织的汉语水平考试，成绩合格者可予以免修。
2.《中国文化概论》
已在我校参加过本课程学习的学生，需出示该课程的学习证明及成绩单。
3.《新时期中国发展道路》
已在我校参加过本课程学习的学生，需出示该课程的学习证明及成绩单。
二、 申请免修程序
1. 在每学期课程注册期间，携带证明材料，到国际教育学院留学生办公室提出免修申请。
2. 由留学生办公室审核通过后，填写《国际教育学院汉语及文化类课程免修申请表》。
3. 由留学生办公室、汉语教研室及学院领导分别签字，并将免修申请表交与留学生办公室留存。
While the international doctoral and graduate students are studying in their various fields in BUCT, they will also need to study the following courses, namely: “Basic Chinese”, which focuses on language knowledge learning and skills training; “An Instruction to Chinese Culture”, which helps students comprehend Chinese culture and its development trend; and ‘China Approach in the New Era’ which aims to interpret major political, economic and diplomatic initiatives and achievements of the new China offered by the School of International Education. All the three courses are compulsory ones. Those who meet the following requirements may apply for exemption.
1. Requirements for Exemption from the Courses:
<Basic Chinese>
Anyone who meets one of the following requirements may apply for exemption from it.
(1) Those who have studied Chinese for more than one semester (four months, 300 hours or more) in BUCT or other domestic institutions, the certificate of completion and transcript are needed.
(2) Those who have studied Chinese in an overseas Confucius institute for more than 300 hours, the relevant certificate of completion and transcript are needed.
(3) Those who have completed their undergraduate study in BUCT or other institutions in China or abroad and intend to continue their degree study in BUCT, and the undergraduate diploma is needed.
(4) Those who have obtained the certificate of HSK2 or above, and the corresponding certificate is needed.
(5) Those who have participated in the course and obtained corresponding credits in BUCT, the study certificate and transcript are needed.
(6) Those who cannot meet the above conditions may take the unified Chinese proficiency test organized by School of International Education, and those who have passed the test can be exempted from the course.
<An Instruction to Chinese Culture>
Those who have taken the course in BUCT may apply for exemption from it. The study certificate and transcript of it are needed.
<China Approach in New Era>
Those who have taken the course in BUCT may apply for exemption from it. The study certificate and transcript of it are needed.
2. Application Procedures:
(1) During the course registration of each semester, please bring the supporting materials to the international students office to apply for exemption.
(2) After being approved by the international students office, fill in the Application Form for Course Exemption.
(3) The international students office, Chinese teaching and research office and school leaders shall sign the Application Form for Course Exemption respectively and submit it to the international students office for retention.
